About the Smart Industry Institute Chattanooga (Tennessee/USA)
The Smart Industry Institute in Chattanooga/Tennessee will open its doors in the first quarter of 2020. This represents the implementation of the first institute on the American continent integrated into the international network of the Deutsche Messe Technology Academy.
A number of German and international companies have recently invested in the southeast of the USA. German automobile manufacturers and their various suppliers in particular, but also companies from other sectors, were welcomed with open arms in these states. In the ranking of federal states, the southeast has regularly occupied a leading position in terms of production in various industries for years.
The Smart Industry Institute will start operations on the premises of the Academy of the Volkswagen Group of America and will be managed operationally and in terms of content by the TMA – Tennessee Manufacturers Association. The aim of the TMA is to sustainably improve, promote and protect the positive conditions for manufacturing in the state of Tennessee. The target of the Smart Industry Institute is to transfer this issue to other federal states.
The Smart Industry Institute in the Volkswagen Academy will become a centre for robotics, automation, Industry 4.0, 3D printing and VR/AR technologies. Its primary purpose is to become a manufacturer-independent event, training and consulting centre for robotics and automation technologies.
