About the Smart Industry Institute Chattanooga (Tennessee/USA)
The Smart Industry Institute in Chattanooga/Tennessee will open its doors on 01 October 2021, making it the first institute on the American continent to be integrated into the international network of the Deutsche Messe Technology Academy.
A whole range of German and international companies have recently invested in the southeastern USA. German automakers and their suppliers in particular, but also companies from other industries, were welcomed to these states with open arms. In the ranking of the states, the Southeast has regularly occupied a leading position in terms of production in various industries for years.
The Smart Industry Institute will begin operations on the premises of the Volkswagen Group of America Academy and will be managed operationally and in terms of content by the TMA – Tennessee Manufacturers Association. The aim of the TMA is to sustainably improve, promote and protect the positive conditions for manufacturing in the state of Tennessee. Through the Smart Industry Institute, this concern is to be transferred to other states.
The Smart Factory Institute in the Volkswagen Academy will become a centre for robotics, automation, Industry 4.0, 3D printing and VR/AR technologies and thus a manufacturer-independent event, training and consulting centre for robotics and automation technology.
